Video Kit

werk

Today saw the unboxing of a huge amount of new video equipment I ordered for our Corp Comms team; this afternoon was essentially a work-related Christmas, filled with the unwrapping of new toys.

I have a lot to work out with the new DSLR, but I’m immediately satisfied by the new lights I bought. We trialed our first three-point light set up (two box lights, and a spot behind) which elevated the quality of the to-camera pieces immensely. One of the new lenses, a Tamron SP AF 17-50mm f/2.8, yielded such a gorgeous picture that tears unconsciously graced my cheeks.

Whilst I mainly do internal video comms for work, the beauty of this equipment is that it’s professional level quality; external facing videos are on the agenda for this quarter so expect me to be able to share some of the results with you soon!

Side note: I got up early and made my own breakfast (that wasn’t cereal) for the first time in years today. Scrambled eggs, avocado, and beans on an English muffin. I was so proud I almost became one of those Instagram food photographers… but my hunger prevented us all from that fate.

Obligation

There’s a lot of pressure that comes with writing an inaugural blog post, and the truth is – I don’t fancy taking it on. Instead, let’s pretend that this is my second post. You can read this on the assumption that I’ve already explained what this blog is all about; you know what to expect at this point, don’t you? Sure you do!

I’m glad we got that cleared up. So on that note, welcome back.

I frequently joke about this video being seasonally inappropriate, but it really is. There’s no other time of year, other than the run up to the 31st December, that I can plug this. So I hope you enjoy it. I’ll see you in 2015!
